Fur Alterations And Fur Repair

So your old fur coat has been sitting in your closet and you haven’t touched it in years. It has two stains on it and it’s a very outdated style.  In most cases fur repair is possible unless it has chemical damage and fur alterations it is what fur is all about.

Older fur coats can be altered and made into beautiful sheared jackets, old fur linings used for the linings of a new design and you can trim cashmere into new garments. Shearing your old fur and having fur alterations done make them look new and stylish while only costing a fraction of what it would cost for a new fur garment.

If you fur has become too tight on you, we can make fur alterations and have it released. You can expect to release two inches from bust/back and one inch from your sleeves.

One of the most common mistakes made by people is once their fur is damaged just throwing it in the closet. Fur repair generally can be done but you want it done immediately if possible. Rips and tears are the most common fur repairs and require furriers to open the lining of the garment to reinforce the form area and sew it back up. Good fur repairs are always unnoticeable since they are done from the outside in. In cases where fur is missing, a good furrier can generally repair the fur by matching a piece that is almost identical and again unnoticeable by the untrained eye.
